Bad weather is believed to be the main reason behind the helicopter crash. The weather has changed in many districts of Uttarakhand over the last few days. There are incidents of rain, thunder, and hailstorm on the Chardham Yatra routes. The Meteorological Department had already issued an alert in many districts.
This tragic accident has once again raised questions about the security arrangements during the Char Dham Yatra. Was it appropriate to allow the flight despite bad weather? The government and the concerned agencies need to be more vigilant about the safety of the pilgrims.
